Perfect Pairing - Philippians 2:3

We are a baseball family. Chances are during Spring & Summer you can find us at a ball field a few nights per week. Our boys love it. It's not always fun, but nothing ever is, even if you love it.
I've blogged about this before, but the past two weekends we have had one 1st place trophy & one 3rd place "nothing". In tournaments, the 3rd place team does not receive anything.
We are a competitive family. While our boys always want to win 1st place, if they lose or win, they encourage each other & are happy for each other.
This weekend, Dad wasn't too happy. Some attitudes were not the greatest & some things were said, behaviors a little off. While we cheered both boys, we had to teach some lessons in character.
As always, baseball is a great lesson for life. Winning or losing, we have to be open to the lessons God is teaching us. If we are not, life is that much harder.
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves"
-Philippians 2:3

  1. I'm so happy you teach them good sportsmanship. It's not taught nearly enough.

Congrats to the boys for their well-played games! =)

  2. I love the whole book of Philippians.
Have fun out there sweating your booty off in the sun and wind watching your boys play.
Good sportsmanship should be the first priority in participation. Unfortunately, it isn't always what we teach.
