To Whom It May Concern

Dear Democrat Family members & Friends,
I am writing you today so that you hear my side of this political debate. I'm not writing to rip on the Democrat ticket or spew some moral high ground euphemisms. I just want you to hear my heart.
First, I am still a registered democrat. As you know, in my mid- 20's I was pro-choice, pro-big government, pro-I'm so cool I have a big career & live in a downtown loft & recycle. Gasp! Sigh!
I know, I know, I just feel better getting that off my chest. With that admission I will tell you that I have not voted that "way" since Clinton's first term.
Here's why I went red...
Remember, I was in corporate H.R. during Clinton's terms in office. I saw the crazy red-tape businesses had to go through to simply hire or fire an employee. I also saw how easy it was for an employee not to work & keep their job while other's worked their tails off & got no where because they were a certain sex & race.
I got married, had children & realized my children's children would have a socialist America. The Democrat's seem to have changed since my great grandparent's generation. They do not hold the same values as our Grandfather's spoke of often around the dinner table.
I don't understand how a person can be pro-abortion & then say it's horrible to send troops into to war.
I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend & volunteer. I am NOT dumb because I live in suburbia mid-west. I am NOT simple because I gave up a career in order to raise my own children. It is much harder to stay at home & raise my children then work on my career.
I'm sad to see how my fellow sisters are ripping Palin because she is a mom to 5 & running for office. Disagree w/her on the issues.
I do not believe our founding father's wrote the constitution saying separation of "God & State". Public schools taught reading straight from the King James version of the bible. Our founding elected officials prayed before each meeting. They wanted freedom to worship God how they chose, not God removed from our government.
I want the freedom to worship, educate my children, or drive how I see fit ; )
I don't want bigger government.
I want to have the freedom to have a gun in my home or car. If I am a convicted felon then take my guns away.
I DO value change. Change for the better not change for sake of getting elected.
I do think we should drill in our own country. I do think we should seek alternate energy sources. I appreciate T Boone Pickens energy plan, his money talks & makes my Alma Mater prettier ; )
I do think small business owners should get tax breaks & incentives to start up. It's how our country grew. Mavericks willing to risk it all with an entrepreneurial spirit!
"Small businesses represent 99 percent of all employers, create nearly 75 percent of all net new jobs, and employ 51 percent of the private-sector workforce. They are the foundation, the base, the core of our economy. America is America because of our small businesses."
- Senator Snowe.

I want the following for our public schools:
prayer, boys & girls bathrooms, stricter teacher accreditation including a personality profile, classrooms based on the students not childcare for parents, higher pay for teachers, & the homosexual agenda removed.
Cartoon from the NewYorker Magazine

"If Heather has two mommies & each of them has two brothers & one of those brothers has another man for a "roommate", how many uncles does Heather have?"

I don't believe it's all about me. I respect this great country we live in & our freedom to vote.
I won't tell you you're crazy for your ideas/beliefs. I will choose to love you through it ; )
No seriously, this election has many friends upset & arguing. That's what Satan wants. We do have a real enemy & he is out to kill, destroy our country & families. I trust that God is sovereign. I will put my lil' vote in the box & trust that the right man for the job will be elected.

I won't say "I told you so" if your candidate wins & messes up in office. I won't gloat if my candidate wins & leads this country to a better tomorrow.
So let's not fight anymore. Let's not get in heated "debates" & say things that will hurt later.
I love your liberal, blue hearts!!!
God Bless America & God Bless YOU! Lots of love,
your favorite right-wing, gun totin', Jesus lovin', homeschoolin', rebel girl

  3. This is an amazing post and I think I need to make one of my own. I feel like Palin is a great woman and she can lead us to a better tommorrow for our kids and grandkids. I think posting this is a good idea and I hope you don't mind me doing my own.

  5. Well said, sister! Did you watch McCain's speech last night? He cracked me up when he said we need to reward good teahcers and help bad teachers find a new profession! It made me seriously think of you and our recent conversations about the public school system.

I really hope and pray he wins the election!!
